We will be staying in cabins at the Spey Gee resort, which is located about 1/4 mile below the Weitchpec Bridge. They overlook what could be the best water in the entire system. From the resort there are a lot of options--fish the water below the resort, drive a short distance to the lower Trinity, head upstream towards Orleans or drive 10 miles downriver to Young's Bar. This is some of the best fly fishing water anywhere & we usually have the river to ourselves. The rondy is limited to 6 anglers. There is nice Steelhead run during July & August--both adults & 1/2 pounders.

This can be a walk & wade trip, or a float trip or both. we have kayak's for four anglers, or anyone can bring their own kayak & float boat. There will be a pre-meeting to discuss these options, as well as logistics, gear, etc.

This is a cast, swing, mend & hang on rondy. Long casts are a plus. 6-8 wt single hand or 6-7 spey rods with floating lines are recommended. waders, boots, wading staffs are necessary.

The fly fishing is not technical, but basic skills are necessary. This is not for the "Learn to Fly Fish Program" or beginners.

The fee for this Rondy is $10. Other expenses are lodging & food--plus perhaps a water shuttle during a float trip.
