Pre-Mtg for Fall River Rondy, 6/23-24

This pre-meeting / casting clinic on Sat., March 5, 2016, is primarily intended for those club members who have already been "qualified", are currently on the rondy wait list, or are hoping to demonstrate their casting ability in order to still possibly qualify for the "traditional dry fly and streamer fly fishing only" Fall River Rondy on Thursday & Friday, June 23 & 24, 2016.  

Qualified members are a small group who have now been selected, subject to a casting evaluation, as likely candidates for this very limited rondy based on questionnaire responses they submitted to Bob Pauli (following his advertised 1/10/16 talk) that professed their strong interest in traditional fly fishing and their likely ability to make the expected casts. If more candidates are qualified at this March 5 pre-meeting, there may still be a possibility of creating more rondy openings. 

Other club members interested in learning from Bob Pauli about traditional fly fishing techniques for the Fall River may attend his 1-hour class session on March 5 as long as seating is available. There will also be instruction in leader assembly and fly selection.     

Classroom session will commence promptly at 9:00AM in the lodge meeting room.  Participants will move to the center and east ponds after 10AM to start their casting session. Bring 2 rods that are set-up (see the 6/23 rondy posting for gear info) for both dry fly and streamer casting (no bobbers!), along with your hat and eyewear for this casting clinic. Waders will not be needed. 

THOSE WHO HAVE ALREADY QUALIFIED, WHO WANT TO QUALIFY, OR WHO WANT TO BE WAIT-LISTED FOR THIS RONDY MUST ATTEND THIS PRE-MEETING (unless they are previously excused by Bob). In the event that someone has to drop out, his or her replacement from the wait list must have participated in this pre-meeting/ casting clinic. 

Those planning to attend this pre-meeting/clinic are requested to REGISTER  for this March 5 event in advance in order to determine the number of instructors needed.
