The Upper "Sac" is everything a freestone trout stream should be:  with riffles, pocket water, long runs and deep pools. It is a wonderful "walk and wade" river that flows 37 miles from Lake Siskiyou to Shasta Lake. Rondy leaders Greg Someson and Mike Downing will lead 8 anglers to show them good places to enter and fish the river on 10/19 and 20.

We will meet at 7:00AM 10/19 at the Ted Fay Flyshop, located in downtown Dunsmuir. We will make a short drive to the river, where Craig Nielson, Shasta Trout Outfitters, will conduct a Pre-Fishing Clinic.

There are several motels and campgrounds in the area. More information will be forthcoming later.

Basic fly fishing skills are required. This is not for participants in the "Learn to Fly Fish" program or beginners. This is "catch and release" only with barbless hooks.

Gear:  Full wading attire and staff, 4 or 5 wt fly rod rigged with floating line for dry flies and nymphing, 4X-6X leaders, 5X-7X tippet (Mono or Flourocarbon), split-shot, indicators, and flies. It may be hot or cold this time of the year -- and it may rain. Be prepared.

There is a $10 fee. Other expenses will be lodging, meals, and, perhaps, purchase of another fly or two.
