For this November's program, the GGACC is very pleased to have Dave McCants, a noted fly tyer and founding member of Putah Creek Trout, give us his well-received presentation on how, when, and where to fish Putah Creek --which, for many in the Bay Area, is our most noteworthy local trout stream.
Dave has both fished and taught fishing on Putah Creek for over 38 years and has developed special patterns for Putah Creek that he is willing to share with everybody.
Dave has been tying for over 50 years and ties everything from size 28 zebra midges to size 8/0 Atlantic Salmon flies. He enjoys giving back to the fly fishing community and teaching both novice and experienced tyers in developing their skills. Besides being associated with several pro teams (Regal fly tying vices and Whiting Farms), Dave has been a long-time member of the Diablo Valley Fly Fishers, the Federation of Fly Fishers, and even started a local fly-tying club (Creative Comfort Fly Tyers) in Pleasant Hill, CA.
