This Saturday event is both a friendly casting competition ("turkey shoot") and a casting seminar on Long-line Spey Casting that is open to all interested individuals.
Some of the club's most accomplished Spey casters want to encourage all who wish to participate in the morning shoot-out and those who may simply want to know more about casting these long-belly lines with long rods to be sure to show up for this event. Or just come out to enjoy watching the event.
You are encouraged to stick around after completion of the morning's competition for some free hands-on instruction and Q&A.
This event offers an excellent chance to learn from these masters about how to do this Spey casting correctly and how to get started in this sport. Using this event as a springboard, these ambassadors of Long-line Spey casting hope to start developing ever more skilled competitors from GGACC or other local clubs to participate in the club's future Spey-O-Rama's.
It is suggested that you bring your own waders if you want to get some instruction in this casting.
For those wishing either to compete or to get some instruction, please REGISTER ONLINE to to help provide a head-count of the numbers expected.
Competitors should also contact Victor Yee beforehand to confirm their interest in competing --or perhaps to help set-up buoys, etc., beginning at 8:00am.
