This Skills Building program is designed to enhance one's practical knowledge of the sport and to assist all fly fishers wishing to become more successful when out on the lakes and streams. Varying topics are presented by an experienced fly fisher with extensive knowledge about the specific topic.

[Note:  Larry Kenney's presentation on Rods as originally scheduled for this October program has just been RESCHEDULED to FEBRUARY due to his illness.]

Instead, the October program presented by Garth Thompson titled Gear, Gear, and More Gear covers a couple of different topics.  The main focus is on the more common gear that you may want to carry in your vest, pack, or pocket.  The session will also cover wading safety and good catch-and-release practices.  Due to the rescheduling of the Rods program, a bit of time will be used to review some of the basic rod types, weights and how to distill that down to what it all means to a new angler.

This is an excellent session for anyone getting into the sport who is a bit overwhelmed with the array of gear out there.   We'll go over the very basics of what is needed for a couple of different target species and then touch on some of the common terms and gear you might run across.  We will also talk about safety with a focus on how to wade safely.   Last but not least, we'll review good catch-and-release practices.

Please register online for this event whenever registration has been enabled.
