This will be a two-day Rondy at Baum Lake for 8 experienced member anglers on 2/28 and 3/1/2017. This is a premier fly fishing lake for trout. There is very little wading and anglers must have your own watercraft (e.g., float tube, pontoon boat, or kayak) and a PFD is required. Note: A good anchor is also needed since there is a fairly strong current in this small lake (which is really just a wide spot on Hat Creek).
Both watercraft and angling skills are required. This Rondy is for experienced anglers ONLY and is NOT for current participants in the Learn to Fly Fish Program or other beginners.
Suggested gear: 5wt single hand fly rod with floating and/or intermediate line and sink tips. It is still likely to be cold and possibly rainy, so bring multiple layers and good rain gear.
We will be staying in Burney at a local motel. Gear & logistics will be discussed at the pre-meeting in the clubhouse (TBD).
The fee for this Rondy is $25. (Note: There will be no refunds of the Rondy fee). Other expenses will include the cost of the motel and all food.
