The Golden Gate Park's CASTING PONDS will be CLOSED beginning Monday, March 20, 2017, for annual cleaning and maintenance.
Draining of the ponds will begin late Saturday afternoon 3/18, but the scheduled LTFF Class Day 2 on that date and the LTFF Shooting Head/ Sinking Line Clinic on that Sunday will still be held.
POND CLEANING DAY will be on TUESDAY, MARCH 21 this year. More information to follow as a separately posted calendar event on this date.
Since the SF Rec & Park Dept. will be enlarging the concrete drain sump in the west pond during the week of March 27, the ponds are expected to remain closed longer than normal this year, possibly more than two weeks. The ponds should be refilled (using the park's recycled well water) in time for the Mel's Day Free Casting Lessons on Saturday, April 8th.
Please plan your visits to the ponds accordingly and check the club's website for the latest information about when the ponds will actually be refilled.
