Thanks to Rajeff Sports' founder Tim Rajeff, rep Matt Callies, and a few of their pro staff, the GGACC is pleased to offer a new demo day event: The Rajeff Sports "Spring Fling"!!!
Here's your big chance to hear from some renowned experts about fly lines, fly rods, and how to test them to make a better purchase decision-- as well as tips for fishing them too.
This free all-day affair will be held on Saturday, June 16 starting at 9:00AM, and include a special lunch. Xavier Carbonnet, who's organized what we hope will become an annual event here on the GG casting ponds, plans to roast a suckling pig in the Cuban box and serve it in sandwiches with a "Chimichurri" sauce (Argentine style). Yumm!
The goal of this event is to provide anglers with a chance to test the newest gear and to hear about some of the latest ideas in the fly fishing industry! Knowing how hard it is to check out a new fly line at a fly shop based on the parking lot cast, the team from Rajeff Sports wants you to come test their new Airflo lines and learn about some new fishing tricks and casting techniques at the Golden Gate Angling and Casting Club!
Current line-up of activities and presentations planned for this year:
9:00am: Welcome and Introduction to the day's plans
9:30am Matt Callies: Nymph lines and why they are different. Rigging for success and testing lines!
10:30am Tim Rajeff: How rods are made and why they break. Tim will review how to test and choose the rod that best suits your casting style and fishing conditions. Bring your camera as Tim will break a rod or two during his presentation.
11:30am: Tom Mahan: Trout Spey and single-hand Spey Casting techniques for swinging in Northern California's trout waters!
12:30pm Lunch break and free time on the water (also a presentation by Cast Hope)
1:30 pm Hogan Brown: Striper fishing gear lines and how to catch striped bass.
2:30pm Tim Rajeff: Why are fly lines so confusing? Tim will explain and demonstrate the important features found in modern fly lines. He will cover single-hand trout lines as well as two-hand lines. Bring your favorite rod and test drive it with an Airflo fly line.
3:00pm: Raffle and wind-down session
Shops, vendors, and others may be on hand to provide more entertainment as well!
