Celebration of Life for Longtime GGACC Member Frank Matarelli
Our GGACC "Honored Member" Frank Matarelli passed away on August 17th at the age of 102. A Celebration of Life will be held in Frank’s honor in the Angler’s Lodge on Saturday September 8 from 4 - 7 PM. GGACC Club members and guests are welcome to attend. This event is being graciously hosted by Frank’s son, Frank Matarelli, Jr.
Attendees are asked to Register online (click on the large "Register" button) for this event in order to have an accurate headcount for the caterer when ordering food and beverages.
Frank Matarelli joined the Golden Gate Angling and Casting Club on December 2, 1957. With a membership lasting more than 60 years, Frank is believed to have been our oldest and longest living member. Frank was a well known fly tier in the fly fishing community and the inventor of several popular tools of the fly tying craft — the Matarelli thread bobbin holder and the Matarelli whip finish tool, both pictured in a shadow box that hangs proudly on the wall of the GGACC Angler’s Lodge.
The membership of the Golden Gate Angling and Casting Club wishes to extend our deepest sympathies to the Family and Friends of our fellow long time Club member and dearest friend, Frank Matarelli. Please join us on Saturday September 8 from 4 - 7 PM to celebrate Frank’s long and memorable life.
