Rondy: Mono Hot Springs Dry Fly - Guided Walk & Wade
Dates: September 28-29, 2019
Leader: Gavan Hennessy mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org
Number of anglers (excluding leader): 7
Description: 2 days guided dry fly sight fishing for wild brown trout, with one one of the top guides in California ( www.sierraflyfisher.com ). Two nearby high elevation lakes host great runs of large brown trout at this time of year, and can be easily seen and cast to in the crystal clear tributaries. There is also great fishing downstream from the lakes for more plentiful smaller fish of many varieties. If you like dry fly fishing in remote wilderness areas, then this is the Rondy for you!
Accomodations will be 3 nights (Sept 27, 28 and 29) at the Mono Hot Springs Resort www.monohotsprings.com with 2 anglers per cabin. There is a restaurant, general store and best of all, the many hot springs to relax in after a day on the rivers and lakes.
Anglers need to be comfortable walking and wading rough terrain (similar to McCloud wading). However, you do not need to be an expert angler to go on this trip as the guides are experienced teachers and will be happy to help improve your skills.
Suggested Gear: 3-5 wt fly rods with the usual lines, leaders, etc., to fish dries. You'll also need a wading staff, sturdy waders, studded boots, and clothing to manage changeable weather.
Cost: The fee for this Rondy is $575. This includes 3 nights lodging and 2 days guided fishing.
Other expenses will include travel, food, and guide tips.
Cancellation Policy: There are no refunds. In the event that a member is, for any reason, unable to attend, he may resell his slot (rod) to another GGACC member (by first pulling from the waitlist if one exists). It is the sole responsibility of the member to manage this transaction. This is not the responsibility of the leader or club.
