This LTFF Casting Qualifier is being held on the GGACC ponds on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 11, from 2:30 to 4:30pm (and again, as needed, on Feb. 8 from 1-3pm) to confirm that all 2020 first-time registrants to the LTFF program each possess the prerequisite basic casting skills to participate in the program.
The tested students, to be scored by the club's casting instructors, are expected to pass all four casting tasks that have been designed to showcase their basic overhead and roll casting abilities. Failure to pass the LTFF Casting Qualifier tasks may be grounds for dismissal from the LTFF program and refund of fees.
This event requires exclusive use of the East casting pond to set-up the needed dockside casting stations for the expected number (up to 50) of pre-registered Learn to Fly Fish (LTFF) students in the 2020 Beginner Class, and only those in the 2020 Novice Class who are new to the LTFF program this year.
The January 11 Qualifier event will be followed immediately by LTFF Annual Program Dinner that begins in the lodge at 4:30pm with dinner served around 5pm (see the separate calendar event to register for this free dinner).
This is a Pre-requisite casting qualification event for all 2020 LTFF Beginner students and for only those 2020 Novices new to the LTFF program in 2020. No others may participate.
This Qualifier event will be repeated on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020, from 1-3pm, for those needing an extra opportunity to pass some or all of the four tasks. There will also be a Practice session hosted by the Club's CI Instructors on Saturday, Feb. 1. from 11:30am to 2:00pm.
