Fly Fishing for Trout - Basic Fly Fishing Equipment
Saturday, April 10, 2021 from 1:00 to 2:30 pm
This is a virtual (Zoom) presentation to be presented by club member Patrick Mullin. Register online now for this event in order to receive the Zoom invitation roughly an hour or two before the start of the presentation.
Cost: free. This event is open to the public to register.
This Skills Building program is designed to enhance one's practical knowledge of the sport and to assist all fly fishers wishing to become more successful when out on the lakes and streams. Varying topics are presented by an experienced fly fisher with extensive knowledge about the specific topic.
During the ongoing Covid Pandemic: Programs will all be held virtually as Zoom meetings until such time that Covid restrictions are relaxed enough that SF Rec & Parks (GGASCC's clubhouse landlord) allows for at least some limited use of our club's Anglers Lodge for this purpose. When presented virtually, the dates and times of these Fly Fishing Skills Building programs may necessarily be changed to accommodate the needs of the presenter. Such change will be noted in email blasts to the membership and shown accordingly on the club"s Events Calendar publicly viewable at ggacc.org. Otherwise, these virtual meetings will typically be held monthly (whenever possible) on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 1:00pm to 2:30pm.
Post-Covid Pandemic: Unless there will be no program offered in a particular month, this event will typically be held POST-COVID on the 2nd Saturday of each month following the free public casting lessons that month. Attendance may be limited to the maximum seating available in Anglers Lodge for a particular program, so please register well in advance of the event.
Program Description: This APRIL month's virtual Skills Bldg. Program is designed for the beginning fly fisher and will explain the basic equipment needed to start fly fishing.
The program's offerings in subsequent months will build on the knowledge to be presented this month as the baseline in teaching the new Learn to Fly Fish (LTFF) students, potential future LTFF students, or any other folks interested in fly fishing, those subjects previously taught to LTFF students in a more intensive classroom setting.
All participants MUST REGISTER for this event beforehand (whether or not there is any limit shown on the registration for this event) in order to receive the Zoom meeting invitation and link via email NO LATER THAN AN HOUR OR SO BEFORE THE EVENT START TIME. Any later registrations after that time may NOT be sent the Zoom meeting link.
Upon clicking on the large Register button, your online registration is NOT complete until you are notified of an email confirming your registration.
