GGACC Members Only FREE CASTING LESSONS   June 12, 2021

UPDATE:  ALL THREE PONDS WILL BE RESERVED ON JUNE 12th FROM 8AM TO 3PM  FOR CASTING LESSONS AND RELATED ACTIVITIES.   THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND COOPERATION.

We are announcing the return of SECOND SATURDAY FREE CASTING LESSONS for our GGACC membership.   Our club leadership has worked closely with San Francisco Parks and Recreation throughout the pandemic, and we are pleased to make this significant step forward towards re-opening activities with our club.

THESE LESSONS ARE FOR GGACC MEMBERS ONLY UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

If you are not currently a member, but would like to be, it’s easy to sign up at a very reasonable price.  Please go to https://www.ggacc.org/join to become a member.

We are able to accommodate classes of 50 students, and will offer two classes on June 12th serving up to 100 GGACC member students.

GGACC members 13 years of age and older are welcome to register.  You must register for one of two classes for the event day.  These will be two-hour casting lessons—the morning class will run from 10AM – 12 Noon.  The afternoon class will run from 1PM -3PM.

Class sizes are limited to 50 students.  Students should only register for one class per day.

If you later realize you cannot attend, PLEASE CANCEL your registration to allow another wait-listed student to attend.

Registered students will be checked-in against the registration list.  No drop-ins will be allowed, and anyone not registered will be asked to leave.  Sign-ups will be checked against the GGACC membership list.

Students must bring their own equipment.  Loaner equipment will NOT be available.   Bring fly rod with floating line, leader and yarn practice fly for your casting lesson and practice.  For safety reasons, no hooks or flies, even with the hook point cut off are allowed.

Eye protection is required.  Please bring appropriate eyewear.   It is San Francisco, so a jacket and sunscreen are also recommended.

Face coverings will be required and 6 foot social distancing standards will be in place.  All San Francisco Rec & Parks Dept. COVID protocols will be enforced.

Students should arrive between 15 - 25 minutes before their start time to sign-in, receive their name badge, rig up their rod, and be assigned their casting location.  Late arrivals will not be allowed to join the class because they will miss important instructions included safety protocols.  Please be prompt!

Lessons will range from beginner through advanced skill levels.  Students will be divided into two groups for these lessons: Combined Beginner/Novice and Combined Intermediate/Advanced.  You do not need to specify this in the registration; we will break into groups at the lessons.

Don't Wait to register!  Classes will fill quickly!
