The GGACC is pleased to invite you to the l0dge as we recognize the club’s longest serving member. 

A special afternoon with  

Jim Adams

Saturday March 2, 1PM

The Golden Gate Angling and Casting Club is pleased to recognize Mr. Jim Adams with the distinction of Honored Member.  Please join us as Jim speaks about his life as a scientist, adventure angler, book dealer, tackle expert and long standing GGACC club member.  Food will be served, please bring a beverage of your choice. 

Jim Adams received BS and MS degrees in Fisheries at Humboldt State in 1958 & 1960, and later completed PhD in Fisheries at University of Washington in 1975.  Jim worked in Yellowstone National Park as summer Biologist in 1952, then in Alaska on Salmon & trout research 1953-1962. He also worked for California Department of Fish & Game. In 1962, Jim went to work as the first Biologist employed by PG&E -- designing the Crystal Lake Spawning Channel and the Hat Creek Wild Trout Project. 


Over his 50 year career, Jim spent hundreds of hours underwater in trout streams and in the Pacific Ocean and supervising teams of biologists, scientists, and engineers in areas related to fisheries in fisheries management. Currently, Jim heads up Adams Angling in Berkeley California, which specializes in rare fly fishing books, videos, and antique fly fishing tackle.
