The Golden Gate Angling and Casting Club is pleased to host David Brooks, conservationist, environmental historian, author, and advocate for freshwater fisheries throughout the State of Montana. Please join us in the lodge as David speaks about the status of Montana’s famed rivers, the fish and fishing, the challenges they face, and work that is being done to insure that vibrant fisheries exist there for generations to come. If you are contemplating a trip to Montana this year, this evening’s discussion will be very worthwhile. Please join us for what should be an extremely informative and timely discussion.
David Brooks
David Brooks is the Executive Director of Montana Trout Unlimited. He was trained as an environmental historian and is a subject matter expert on watershed issues and Superfund cleanup efforts. In earning his PhD, David authored the book Restoring the Shining Waters: Superfund Success at Milltown, Montana. A book that explores the first ever EPA Superfund cleanup site, dam removal, and watershed restoration project on the Clark Fork River. Since moving to Missoula in 2000, he has walked, jogged, pedaled, paddled, rowed, hunted, skied and cast in as many wild places and open spaces in the state as possible, most enjoyably when he’s in the company of his wife, daughter, dog, and friends. As the Executive Director of Montana Trout Unlimited, David is a guardian in conserving, protecting, and restoring the State’s coldwater fisheries and their watersheds.
