GGACC River Arts & Lectures series is excited to announce that Per Brandin will be speaking at GGACC on the evening of July 9th, 2026. Per will be interviewed by world casting champion Chris Korich.

Per Brandin is a master bamboo fly rod builder renowned for his innovative hollow-building techniques and his deep scholarly commitment to the craft.  Based in Massachusetts, Brandin is widely considered a leading authority on the E.C.Powell style of rod making, having refined the art of removing weight from the rod's interior to create bamboo tools with the lightness and recovery speed of modern materials. His work often features a signature "stepped" aesthetic and a focus on performance-driven tapers that balance traditional soul with technical precision.  Beyond the bench, Brandin is a professional photographer and the author of the definitive biography "A Fly Rod with a Soul," a comprehensive history of E.C.Powell’s life and designs.  His rods are highly coveted by collectors and serious anglers alike, representing a bridge between the Golden Age of California rod making and contemporary high-performance fly fishing.
